MC542P-2 Switch Quantity Stepper Driver

Product Overview

The MC542P-2 is a 57 digital stepper driver developed based on a high-performance, low-power ARM chip, offering excellent cost performance. The driver features a built-in intelligent regulator with PID parameter self-tuning function, which automatically generates the most suitable parameters for different motors without manual adjustment, optimizing motor performance. The driver operates with very low motor noise and supports selectable direction + pulse or dual pulse modes.

Features

Voltage input range: DC 20V to 50V Maximum peak current: 4.2A Speed range: 60 to 1200 ppr Insulation resistance: 500M Features overcurrent and overvoltage protection functions

Driver Functions

Operating Instructions

Operating Current SettingBy SW1-SW3 three DIP switches to set the driver output current, with a total of 8 levels. For specific output current settings, please refer to the driver panel instructions.
Automatic Half-Current FunctionUsers can set the driver's automatic half-current function through SW4 . OFF means the static current is set to half of the dynamic current, ON means the static current is the same as the dynamic current. Generally, it is recommended to set SW4 to OFF to reduce the heat generated by the motor and driver and improve reliability. After the pulse train stops, the current automatically reduces after about 0.3 seconds. 50% (Actual value 55% ), theoretically reducing heat generation by 65%
Speed Range Setting

By SW5-SW8 Four DIP switches to set the number of speed ranges of the driver, with a total of 15 speed range levels. When setting the speed, the user should stop the driver operation first. For specific speed range settings, please refer to the driver panel instructions.

Indicator LightsThe driver has two indicator lights: red and green. The green light is the power indicator, which stays on when the driver is powered; the red light is the fault indicator, which stays on when overvoltage or overcurrent faults occur. The red light turns off after the fault is cleared. When a fault occurs, only power cycling and re-enabling can clear the fault.
Signal InterfacePUL+ and PUL- are motor start control terminals, supporting or 5V switch signals; 24V DIR+ are the positive and negative terminals of the direction signal; and DIR- ENA+ are the positive and negative terminals of the enable signal. and ENA- Motor Interface
Motor interface

A and A- are connected to the positive and negative terminals of phase A of the stepping motor; B and B- are connected to the positive and terminals of phase B of the stepping motor. When phases

A and B are interchanged, the motor direction can be reversed.

Power interfaceSupply with DC power source, working input voltage range: 2050VDC, recommended working voltage 36VDC, power source power than 100W.
Installation instructions

The dimensions of the drive are: 117×78×34mm, and the mounting hole pitch is 111mm. It be installed both horizontally and vertically (vertical installation is recommended). When installing,

it should be placed tightly against the metal cabinet to facilitate heat dissipation.
