MC860P-2 Switch Quantity Stepper Driver

Product Overview

The MC860P-2 is an 86 digital stepper driver developed based on a high-performance, low-power ARM chip, offering excellent cost performance. The driver features a built-in intelligent regulator with PID parameter self-tuning functionality, which automatically generates the most suitable parameters for different motors without manual adjustment, optimizing motor performance. The driver operates with very low motor noise and supports selectable direction + pulse or dual pulse modes.

Features

Voltage input range: DC24V~110V / AC18V~80V Maximum peak current: 7.2A Speed range: 60~1200ppr Insulation resistance: 500M Features overcurrent, overvoltage and other protection functions

Driver Function Description

Driver Functions

Operating Instructions

Operating Current Setting

By SW1-SW3 three DIP switches to set the driver output current, with a total of 8 levels. For specific output current settings, please refer to the driver panel instructions.

Automatic Half-Current Function

Users can set the driver's automatic half-current function through SW4 . OFF means the static current is set to half of the dynamic current, ON means the static current is the same as the dynamic current. Generally, it is recommended to set SW4 to OFF during operation to reduce heating of the motor and driver and improve reliability. After the pulse train stops, the current automatically reduces after about 0.3 seconds. 50% (Actual value 55% ), theoretically reducing heat generation by 65%

Speed Range Setting

By SW5-SW8 Four DIP switches are used to set the number of speed ranges of the driver, with a total of 16 speed ranges. When setting the speed, the driver should be stopped first. For specific speed range settings, please refer to the driver panel instructions.

Indicator Lights

The driver has two indicator lights: red and green. The green light is the power indicator and stays on when the driver is powered; the red light is the fault indicator and stays on when overvoltage or overcurrent faults occur. The red light turns off after the fault is cleared. When a fault occurs, only power cycling and re-enabling can clear the fault.

Signal Interface

PUL+ and PUL- are motor start control terminals, supporting 5V or 24V switch signals; DIR+ and DIR- are the positive and negative terminals of the direction signal; ENA+ and ENA- are the positive and negative terminals of the enable signal.

Motor Interface

A+ and A- connects to the positive and negative terminals of the A phase winding of the stepper motor; A phase winding; B+ and B- connects to the positive and negative terminals of the A phase winding of the stepper motor; B phase winding. When the two phase windings are swapped, A B the motor direction can be reversed.

Power Interface

Uses DC power supply, operating input voltage range:   24V 110VDC or   18V 80VAC, recommended input voltage above 48V, power supply greater than 300W.

Installation Instructions

Driver dimensions are: 150 × 97.5 × 52.6mm with mounting hole spacing of 138.5mm . It can be installed horizontally or vertically (vertical installation is recommended). During installation, it should be mounted tightly against a metal cabinet to facilitate heat dissipation.
