3MC580 Three-phase 57/86 Digital Stepper Driver

Product Overview

3MC580 Digital Stepper Driver, using the new generation DSP technology, suitable for driving three-phase 57/86 stepper motors. The drive voltage is DC 20V~50V, with a maximum drive current of 8A. It can be set to any subdivision within 50 and any current value within the rated current, meeting the application needs of most small and medium-sized devices. The driver features an internal parameter self-tuning function, which automatically generates optimal parameters for different motors without manual adjustment, ensuring the best motor performance.

Features

Voltage input range: DC 20V to 50V Maximum peak current: 8.0A Subdivision range: 200 to 10000 ppr Pulse type: Pulse + Direction Pulse response frequency: 0 to 200KHz Automatic motor parameter tuning function With overvoltage, overcurrent, tracking error overrun and other protection functions.

Driver Function Description

Driver Functions

Operating Instructions

Operating Current Setting

By four DIP switches SW1-SW4 to set the driver output current, which has 16 levels of output current. For specific output current settings, please refer to the driver panel instructions.

Automatic Half-Current Function

Users can set the driver's automatic half-current function through SW5 . OFF means the static current is set to half of the dynamic current, ON means the static current is the same as the dynamic current. Generally, it is recommended to set SW5 to OFF to reduce the heat generated by the motor and driver and improve reliability. After the pulse train stops, the current automatically reduces after about 0.3 seconds 50% (actual value 55% ), theoretically reducing heat generation. 65%

Microstep Subdivision Setting

By Three DIP switches SW6-SW8 are used to set the driver's microstep subdivision, with a total of 8 levels of microstep subdivision. When setting the subdivision, the driver should be stopped first. For specific microstep subdivision settings, please refer to the driver panel instructions.

Indicator Lights

The driver has two indicator lights: red and green. The green light is the power indicator, which stays on when the driver is powered; the red light is the fault indicator, which stays on when overvoltage or overcurrent faults occur. The red light turns off after the fault is cleared. When a fault occurs, only power cycling and re-enabling can clear the fault.

Signal Interface

PUL+ and PUL- are the positive and negative terminals of the control pulse signal; DIR+ and DIR- are the positive and negative terminals of the direction signal; ENA+ and ENA- are the positive and negative terminals of the enable signal.

Motor Interface

U, V, W correspond to the motor winding groups. Swapping any two of the three winding wires can change the motor direction.

Power Interface

Uses DC power supply, operating input voltage range: 20-50VDC or, recommended input voltage greater than 36VDC , power supply greater than 100W.

Installation Instructions

Driver dimensions are: 117×78×34mm , mounting hole distance is 111mm . It can be installed horizontally or vertically (vertical installation is recommended). During installation, it should be mounted tightly against a metal cabinet to facilitate heat dissipation.
