OL57-C Bus Open-Loop Stepper Driver

Product Overview

The OL57-C stepper driver adopts the new generation 32-bit DSP technology, combined with CANopen bus control functions, supporting the CIA301 protocol and CIA402.V2 sub-protocol. It can support up to 32 axes, enabling multi-axis high-speed bus synchronous control. The driver supports position mode, speed mode, and homing mode. The standardized protocol makes the entire control system more stable and reliable, while the simple field wiring effectively avoids pulse loss issues commonly seen in traditional drivers in interference environments.

Features

Voltage input range: DC24V to 50V Maximum peak current: 5A Communication interface: CANopen Communication protocol: CiA301 and CiA402 sub-protocols Automatic motor parameter tuning function Features overvoltage, overcurrent, and other protection functions

Driver Function Description

Driver Functions

Operating Instructions

Station Number Setting

The driver communication station number is set by five DIP switches SW1-SW5, supporting up to 31 slave stations. In actual use, the driver should be stopped first. Please set the slave address according to the table on the driver panel.

CANopen IN/OUT

CANopen communication interface, supports CIA301 protocol and CIA402.V2 sub-protocol.

Baud Rate Setting

The driver communication baud rate is set by two DIP switches SW6~SW7, with four levels ranging from 125K to 1M. In actual use, the driver should be stopped first. Please set the communication baud rate according to the table on the driver panel. SW8 is the terminal resistor.

Indicator Lights

The driver has two indicator lights: red and green. The green light is the power indicator and stays on when the driver is powered. The red light is the fault indicator and stays on when overvoltage or overcurrent faults occur. The red light turns off after the fault is cleared. When a fault occurs, only power cycling and re-enabling can clear the fault.

DI/DO Signal Interface

DI0~DI6 are single-ended input ports, DICOM is the common terminal for inputs; DO0~DO2 are single-ended output ports, DOCOM is the common terminal for outputs. Corresponding command values can be configured as needed to use the functions associated with these commands. Please refer to the driver manual for specific settings.

Motor Interface

A+ and A- connect to the positive and negative terminals of the stepper motor A-phase winding; B+ and B- connect to the positive and negative terminals of the stepper motor B-phase winding. Swapping the + and - terminals of phase A or B can reverse the motor rotation direction.

Power Interface

Powered by DC power supply, recommended operating voltage range is 24V-50VDC, with a recommended operating voltage of 36VDC and power greater than 100W.

Installation Instructions

The driver dimensions are 134×83×33mm, with mounting hole spacing of 128mm. It can be installed horizontally or vertically (vertical installation is recommended). During installation, it should be mounted tightly against a metal cabinet to facilitate heat dissipation.
